In harmony with nature

Visit the dry garden at Château Bois d'Arlène

By definition, a dry garden is designed to eventually thrive without irrigation. The key elements are:

  • Proper soil preparation,
  • Selecting a plant palette suited to the climate and soil,
  • Choosing plants based on origin, quality, and size,
  • Planting techniques and mulching the beds.

Every garden creation requires an initial water supply to support newly planted vegetation. Gradually, the irrigation method evolves to wean the plants off any watering.

Selecting the right partners is especially important. Today, I recommend or collaborate directly with :

  • Les Jardins de Céline, Laurent Clop nursery and Eric Moulin nursery, local producers of Mediterranean plants,
  • Filippi nursery, specializing in plants adapted to challenging conditions.
